Broadcom wl driver monitor mode

Some devices have separate driver packages (for example, r8168 and broadcom-wl). The preceding unsigned comment was added by 666threesixes666 ( talk 20130507) driver altered to build on Linux kernel version > 3. i know of several broadcom drivers and let aircrack determine what i have installed for me. i seen broadcom-sta has monitor mode chopped out on purpose, though im not sure if its firmware or not. ill let a more experienced wiki poster research & determine if that is correct or not. I just changed it to 'aircrack-ng ready' though i think thats inappropriate, & ad-hoc + mon + AP modes would be more appropriate. Monitor mode is not supported on the wlan0 interface, but according to the documentation, this should enable a prism0 interface with monitoring capabilities: echo 1 >/proc/brcmmonitor0 The moment I write 1 to that file, however, my system freezes completely.

This card is not supported by the b43 driver. Please add newer comments below older ones, and sign your comments using four tildes ( ~~~~). Im using the broadcom-sta wl driver, manually upgraded to the latest version.
